Since January 1964, the local government sector has continuously been my profession, area of specialist knowledge and academic engagement. My skills have been honed as an employee primarily in senior management positions for 24 years, as an elected local government councillor from 1991 to 2012, and currently, since September 2017, on the merged Armidale Regional Council .

From August 2012 to October 2013, I was a member of the NSW Government Local Government Acts Taskforce. See more on my ABOUT page.

In late 2015, I was appointed by the NSW Government to undertake four NSW local government merger inquiry processes.

In May 2016, I was appointed Administrator of the merged Armidale Regional Council until first Council elections in September 2017.

I possess 58 years local government experience, extensive  political, academic and bureaucratic networks and have enjoyed several Commonwealth and NSW Ministerial appointments.
